| | Today we have a full day excursion to the magnificent Great Wall, the only man-made object visible from moon by naked eyes. After a very traditional northern Chinese style lunch served at local restaurant, we return the city via the valley of Ming Tombs. |
| DAY .3 | Beijing Sightseeing Tour |
| | After breakfast, you are off for sightseeing tour of Beijing, the tour includes the vast Tian An Men Square, and Ming treasures adorning the imperial palace in the once Forbidden City. In the afternoon, more Ming extravagances are evident as you tour the exquisite architecture and vivid embellishment of the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace. |
| DAY .4 | Beijing - Kunming |
| | Fly to Kunming, capital of China's Yunnan Province, where you will begin your sightseeing of this lovely region. |
| DAY .5 | Kunming Sightseeing Tour |
| | Spend the day exploring the "City of Eternal Spring" noted for its balmy climate. Enjoy visits to the colorful Bird & Flower Market, the Bamboo Temple and the fine exhibitions of the Yunnan Provincial Museum. |
| DAY .6 | Kunming - Dali |
| | This morning fly to Dali, seat of the Bai culture. The balance of the day is spent touring the markets and surrounding villages. |
| DAY .7 | Dali - Lijiang |
| | Drive north to Lijiang, often called the most beautiful city in China. |
| DAY .8 | Lijiang Sightseeing Tour |
| | Enjoy the beauty of the Lijiang region with visits to the Old Town (now a UNESCO World Heritage Site); the verdant Black Dragon Pool Park and the rural Naxi villages of Bai Sha and Longquan. |
| DAY .9 | Lijiang - Zhongdian (Gyalthang) |
| | Today set a course north and drive to the Khampa Tibetan region of Zhongdian. The landscape en route is breathtaking. |
| DAY 10-11 | Zhongdian (Gyalthang) Sightseeing Tour |
| | Spend two days enjoying the picturesque scenery and kind hospitality of the Khampa people. Visit the Tsamsetling Monastery, where a private audience with a living Buddha will be arranged.
Visit Ringa, a traditional Tibetan village built around the sacred monastery of the Five Wisdom Buddhas.
Then travel to stunning gorges of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, home to villages of skilled Tibetan craftsmen. s |
